Judy Sullivan

Judy Ann (Cox) Sullivan, age 64, of Linton, passed away on Thursday August 6, 2026. Judy was a beloved Gram, sister, mother, and friend. Born on August 3, 1962, to Mary Lou and Bud Conklin.Judy was one of those people who could turn almost anything into a craft. She loved to color, draw, paint, and create, and was proudly known as the “Duct Tape Queen.” If there was something that could be decorated, painted, colored, or made into something new, Judy could find a way to do it. She was obsessed with cows, loved all animals, especially her beloved Charlie. One of Judy’s greatest joys was watching her grandchildren play sports. She loved being in the stands, cheering them on. She loved her Thursday trips to the Pub, where she enjoyed a good meal and the familiar company.Judy spent many years as a stay-at-home mother before later working at Dollar General, where she met so many people who came to love her.She coached her daughter’s softball teams and spent years bowling on a team. One of the greatest things about Judy was that she never limited her love to the child she gave birth to. She was a second mom to many. Her home was always full. Her grandchildren were among the greatest joys of her life.Judy was also someone who believed that love didn’t have to end when relationships changed. She remained close with her former husband, Joe Sullivan, after more than 20 years of marriage, and shared a warm relationship with his wife, Martha Sullivan, as well. She is survived by her daughter, Summer Joe Ann Sparks; and son-in-law, Trevor Sparks; her grandchildren, Ryder Joe, Baya Ray Ann, and Gracelynn Sparks; her brother, Larry Cox and his wife Anna; her sisters, Belldonna Hancock and her husband Dennis, Sharren Anderson and her husband Don, and Teresa Carpenter and her husband Danny; as well as her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, MaryLou and Bud Conklin, her brothers, Glen Cox, Owen Cox, and Rodney Cox; and her sister, Tina Collins.Rest easy, Mom.We will carry you with us.Arrangements have been entrusted to Welch & Cornett Funeral Home of Walton Funeral Service Inc.A Celebration of Judy's wonderful life will be held at a later time.Online condolences can be shared at www.welchcornett.com.

Edwin "Eddie" Edmonson

Edwin "Eddie" L. Edmonson, 70, of Lyons, formerly of Linton, passed away on August 7, 2026. Born June 22, 1956, at Freeman Greene County General Hospital in Linton, Eddie was the son of Carlos and Georgianna (Geatches) Edmonson. To those who knew him, he was simply Eddie or Ed - and chances are, if you were from Linton, you knew him. Eddie had a larger-than-life presence: jovial, outgoing, always ready with a story, a laugh, and a cold Miller Lite. He never met a stranger, treasured the friendships he made, and had a way of making every gathering a little more lively. His longtime friendship with Dave Fish was especially meaningful to him. A graduate of Linton-Stockton High School, Eddie worked for Coca-Cola before beginning a long career with the City of Linton, where he retired after many years of service. He loved his community and spent much of his life involved in the organizations and people that made Linton feel like home. Eddie was a proud 47-year member of B.P.O. Linton Elks Lodge #866, serving at one time as Exalted Ruler. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #22, VFW Auxiliary Post #7118, and the Moose Lodge, all in Linton. The Elks and these organizations were more than memberships to Eddie; they were places to gather with friends, share stories, lend support, and enjoy life. He was a devoted fan of IU football and basketball, loved music, especially that of Elvis, and in his younger years enjoyed boating and waterskiing. Eddie lived life fully and on his own terms, embracing its joys, navigating its challenges, and leaving behind memories that will be shared for years to come. Above all, he loved his family deeply and will be remembered for his big heart, his unforgettable personality, and the countless laughs and good times he gave to others. Eddie is survived by his daughters, Shannon (Rob) Curry and Erica (John "B.J.") Smith; grandchildren, Madison (Garrett) Hedge, Payton Curry, and Juniper Smith; great-grandson, Rowan Hedge; and siblings, Marilyn Rogers, Teresa (Raymond) Graham, Steven Edmonson, Rick Edmonson, and Rebecca "Becky" (Larry) Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Carlos "Shep" Edmonson, Jr. and Daniel Geatches. A celebration of Eddie's life will be held at the Linton Elks on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., with a time for family and friends to share memories beginning at 5:30 p.m. Arrangements are in care of Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton, of Walton Funeral Service. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.welchcornett.com.
